Hello All,
I am sponsoring my wife from Pakistan with an outland application. Just confused about what forms I need to fill out. So, part 1 pertains specifically to me and my eligibility to sponsor based on financial condition/history, as well as previous undertakings, if any.
Part 2 is for my wife to fill out. Now, this is where some of the instructions are a little (well actually a lot) confusing.
In the instruction guide, it reads:
-For form 'Schedule A - Background/Declration (IMM 5669)'
This form must be completed by:
•you, the principal applicant;
•your spouse or common-law partner (whether accompanying you to Canada or not), and
•your dependent children aged 18 or over (whether accompanying you to Canada or not).
Now, my wife fills it out as the principal applicant. My question is, do I fill it out as well as by checking the spouse box?
Because if you open the form, it says The Principal applicant, his or her spouse, and all dependent children aged 18 years or older listed in the application for permanent residence must complete their own copy of this form.
Same thing for ‘Additional Family Information (IMM 5406)’, the guide reads:
This form must be completed by:
• You, as the principal applicant,
• Your spouse or common-law partner (whether accompanying you to Canada or not), and
• Your dependent children aged 18 or over (whether accompanying you to Canada or not).
I have contacted the call centre numerous times and have received conflicting information every time around; with some telling me that yes you need to fill them out as well, while others stating that those forms are specifically for the sponsored person to fill out.
Somebody throw me a bone here please.
thanks
