I am filing taxes for the first time since moving to Canada last year. Unfortunately the relationship broke down, but it looks like I need to add my former common law partner’s SIN number and earnings to my tax return.
I don’t know her SIN number or her earnings as our finances were always separate, and after asking twice with no reply it looks as though she isn’t willing to cooperate.
My question is, is there any way to bypass giving these details? I don’t want to file anything that isn’t wholly accurate but I just don’t have these details!
