Hi All - Could any of you share a template for a letter of explanation that we may have to include as a part of the citizenship application?

There is no specific format. It is simply a letter to explain whatever it is you want to explain to the officer. Just say something like this :

Respected IRCC official,

I am writing this to explain the absences..... XYZ
