I am hoping you might be able to clarify how to respond to a few of the questions listed on the IMM 5332. I am a US and Canadian citizen by descent (I have received my Canadian citizenship). I am sponsoring my spouse and two minor dependent children for permanent residency. We currently reside in the U.S., and have never lived in Canada.
Page 1: Part A - Sponsorship Evaluation
Question 2 "Have you sponsored in the past, or are you currently sponsoring, any other members of your family in a different application?
We haven't applied before, and I'm not sponsoring anyone else, so do I answer "No"?
It then asks to "List all people included in past undertakings . . . " -- again, I have not sponsored anyone previously. Do I leave the table blank?
Page 2 Question 3: Other financially dependent people
Is this where I list my spouse and minor dependent children? I have no one else who depends on me/us financially.
Page 5: Question 4: If you are not living together, have you visited each other during your relationship?
I assume I don't need to answer this; however, I clicked yes; once you check a box (it's yes or no) it doesn't let you uncheck it. Do I have to start over and fill out the entire form again to get rid of it?
Page 6: Question 6: How often do you communicate when you are not together and how?
Do I answer this question, or is that only required if you are currently living apart?
Page 6, Follow up to Question 7 (Table)
If I list my spouse's sister, she is related to the Principal Applicant. What Date do I use for meeting the Sponsor or Principal Applicant? Is it the date always when they met the other person? Example, I met my spouse's sister on 2001-12-27, but my spouse would have met her on the day she was born.
