Hi

I'm a physician. I worked outside Canada for 3 years and inside Canada for 5 years now. I'm still working in Canada. CIC score calculator in my profile keeps giving me Zero for foreign work experience! What do you think might be the reason??

Much thanks in advance

That's likely because you may already be getting the max 100 points under Skill Transferability Factor (you get max 50 for education and max 50 for work experience, and you're probably getting 50 points under the "foreign + Canadian work experience" grid; check if you're already getting 100 in that section). What's your total CRS? Are you getting points under "A. Core/Human Capital Factors" for your Canadian work experience? See here for more info -

As long as you're getting the max hundred under Skill Transferability, and the relevant score under Core/Human Capital's Canadian work experience subcategory, you're not getting shortchanged. Best wishes.

I think he is talking about "foreign work experience" not "Skill transferability". As far as I know CIC
doesn't stop the counter for your "work experience" if your skill transferability reaches 100.

You say you have 3 years of foreign work experience, when you have had them? in the last ten years or
earlier? Only foreign work experience gained in the last 10 years is counted towards your CRS.

Hi thanks for answering.. This is what I have:

CRS - Skill Transferability - Education =50
CRS - Skill Transferability - Foreign Work Experience =0

My work experience IS within the past 10 years!!

Any other reasons?

Thanks so so much!
