Hi there... I am applying to EE under CEC and I need the points granted from 3 years of foreign work experience in order to achieve 470CRS+. Such foreign experience was accrued from Sept 2012 until Sept 2015 (highlighted in an official work experience letter issued by the HR dept of my former employer in Brazil).

The point is: the NOC 4021, which is the closest I found to "IT training analyst", employment requirement says "A bachelor's degree, a college diploma or demonstrated expertise in the field of instruction is required." I was awarded a diploma in 2014, however my working experience as trainer started in 2012.

Would this disregard the experience gained before I was awarded a diploma?

Furthermore, in my EE profile, in the Work Section, there is this field "Date APPLICANT first became qualified to practice in this occupation:" Would adding the date I was awarded a diploma be considered a contradiction/misinterpretation as I am claiming for 3 years of work experience when I actually awarded a diploma in the very last year of such experience?

I found the link below in old threads, but it states FSW, so I wasnt sure if this would be applicable to CEC.

Can anyone help?

It is true if you state your date of qualification is 2014, experience gained before that date will not count.

Canada´s employment standards obviously do not apply in Brazil, in most cases, you can use the date of your HS diploma (however, regulated occupations where a license is required is a different situation).

Since your plan is to qualify for CEC, and you would be using this experience for points (not eligibility), I wouldn´t worry about it.

Hi Jes,

thanks for the answer. I actually also need the points for the 3 years of experience I suppose, otherwise I will not reach the 470+ I need. Unless I am missing a point and foreing experience will not help me at all for the CEC.

I will maybe then just put my highschool graduation and hope for the best...
