HI EVERYONE!

I graduate from a 2 year Post Secondary Program in Toronto last year. I gained 1 year experience in a Catering Company. I was a Food and Beverage Server for one year (NOC 6453). I have resigned from that job and I'm back to my home country. I know I can apply within 1 year of leaving Canada.

Now, my question is.. Do I meet the minimum requirement to apply for CEC as a foreign graduate with my work experience?

PLEASE HELP. Thanks.

Unfortunately you do not qualify for CEC. To qualify for CEC you must obtain one year of work experience in a skilled position. NOC 6453 is not classified as skilled position.

That's too bad. >:(

I was thinking to go back to Canada to apply for Supervisory position cuz I still have a valid Post-Grad Work Permit that will expire in June 2013.

And I could still extend it (PGWP) til 2014. So perhaps that way, I could find a job that's under NOC 0,A,B.

Yes - if you can find a job that falls under NOC 0, A or B and complete a year of full time work - then you'll qualify to apply for CEC.

Thanks Scylla :) I appreciate it.

You can't extend Post-graduate work permits. If you want to continue working after your PGWP expires in 2013, you need to get your employer to apply for a LMO for you so you get get a new working permit OR you need to find a new employer to apply for a LMO for you so you can get the new work permit

You can only extend your PGWP if your initial work permit was less than 3 years for reasons such as your passport was expiring. You did 2 years of school, so you are eligible for a 3 year PGWP. If your initial PGWP was less than 3 years for reasons stated above, then you can apply for an extension!
