Hi guys,

Need some urgent advise.

I am currently applying for canadian student visa from Bangladesh. I am resident here in Bangladesh.

HOWEVER, I am being sponsored by my father who works and is a resident in Saudi Arabia.

Can I use his saudi bank statements? Or must I only use a bank that is from Bangladesh.

I read something about on-shore/off-shore bank accounts which got me all confused. How does one show proof of funds if your sponsoring parents works and resides in a different country?

Mind you, I never had any issues when I studied in the UK when my dad sponsored me using his saudi bank account.

Please help! :(

If your parents reside abroad, there is no problem in showing foreign bank statements from them, the problem only arises if all are employed and resident in Bangladesh and show foreign accounts.

That is very helpful, can somebody else please also confirm that this is true? I'd be elated if that is indeed the case. I was tearing my hair out over this. ;D
