Hi US-based forumites, I had a quick question about whether CIC requires police records from each US state one has lived in for 6+ months. My case is unusual since I've lived in 7 different states since I turned 18. Would appreciate input from anyone who knows. Thanks

CIC requires the PCC come from the FBI, which covers all 50 states. Request the FBI Background check and you'll be fine.

Thanks that's a relief.
BTW, love your signature :) , though you can't tell me the Trump thing didn't give you even an iota of vindication

Oh, it definitely assured me I made the right decision!

Wanted to ask if there's a thread on this forum for FBI police report procedure in the US. The CIC website was quite vague about how to do this, and my inquiry calls to several police stations in my area just compounded my confusion. Do you have to get a fingerprint card, or will paper work? Will they give you at the police station? Is it possible to do the fingerprinting electronically?

Here ya go. https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks

If you go to a local police station, they'll do your fingerprints for you. Usually they charge anywhere between $5-25$. They have the cards/paper there.

I believe electronic fingerprints are only accepted for 3rd party channelers (which are only accepted for US Citizens & US Permanent Residents).

Just curious to know on what is motivation to move from US to Canada where the wages and opportunities are much lower, taxes and cost of living are much higher than that of US. Imagine paying 8 CAD ($6) for a gallon of milk as against $1.5 - $2.5. On top of that they have a HST (horizontal sales tax) of 10-13% compared to 5%-8% (barring W Coast). Similar scene with real estate too. All this with much lower wage and inferior conversion rate to USD! Oh yeah, I forgot the terrible weather part too!

Sorry if I was harsh or had offended you in any way! I am really curious to know why Canada that too from US being an USC!

1.Get a fingerprint card with your live or ink. this can be a fd258 card obtained from police stations or printout from fbi site on a plain paper
2.fill in the application
3.fill in the credit card form
4.sent these to fbi address.

refer "fbi.gov/services/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks" for more details
Hope this helps
