For Students Applying from India, is GIC compulsary?

Am planning to apply for visa under University Category and have taken a student loan equivalent to 35,000 CAD and apart from this, planning to pay my first year fees.

Is it necessary to take GIC before submitting visa application?

if it's General then there is NO NEED
