For IT jobs - need an education credential assessment

Hi there,

On conforming that IT jobs falls under unregulated occupation in Canada and is not necessary to have the degree assessed.

My question here is, do we still need an education credential assessment report to qualify for paid internship programs of companies?(example: career edge...)

Is it really worth to have the assessment report before landing to get these internship programs.

Could you please throw some light on this, coz am really confused to get one.

The key is in understanding the purpose of the assessment - to indicate how your credential compares with Canadian credentials.

Your IT or computer science degree could easily be the equivalent of a diploma in Canada. The assessment ,when noted on your resume, helps the recruiter determine how you compare with other applicants. In fact, some employers will recommend you attach a copy of the assessment on your online application, if you have a credentials from outside Canada.

So, it's in your interest to have one, not only for internship programs but even full-time employment opportunities.
