Follow up on sponsorship application

Hello, so it has been two weeks since my wife sponsorship application was received at the case processing centre and I was wondering after how long one can call them to check on the status/progress of the processing?

Are you applying inland or outland?

In general, you have to wait until you get AOR. It can be a few weeks to get AOR for an outland application, and about two months for an inland application.

If there is no issues with the application package, you will get email (if you provided one) o letter in the mail sometime between 2 weeks to 8 weeks (maybe longer) from CIC confirming they received your application package.

Think you need to be prepared for long periods of time when there is no communication and that is normal. Sponsorship is likely going to take 1 years if not more if you need an interview or your country is known for longer processing time. You will be able to monitor the progress of your case online after AOR. That should be 6-8 weeks but could be a little longer.
