So, I just have a quick question and wonder what you guys would do in my situation.

My sister is getting married in October at a place in Colorado, and the only way that we can afford going is if we buy the tickets now but I don't have my PR yet, and cant be 100% sure that I'll have it then, either.

I'm trying to stay in Quebec with my husband while our application is processing, and I just got my visitor's visa extended until December. I'm afraid that if I leave the country I won't be allowed back in.

I applied Sept. 4th, and ECAS says that my application is in process and that they have received my medical results.

What do you guys think I should do?

Are you American?

Remember, you can always buy tickets on Hotwire or Priceline. Priceline serves Canada now. I took a flight to Calgary in 2011 I booked on Priceline. Even if they don't fly directly to your airport, you might be able to find something nearby.

Yes, I am. My application is in California.

We are more than likely going to book through Expedia as that is what we always do, but we still need to buy in advance to make it worth it.

Make sure to take proof of your application with you, such as AOR, Stage 1 approval, etc. Unless you run into the grump officer with a chip on his shoulder, you should be allow back into Canada.

Your passport request is usually a scanned copy of pp, not the actual booklet itself.

It should be fine.

Even if you are rejected at the border for some reason, your application is Outland through L. A. You're allowed to be outside Canada. Good news though, people from August are getting PPR so chances are you will have your PR visa before that. (If you had a straighforward application, no big red flags, etc.).

Don't stress too much. On the scale of things, you're doing good.

If you fly back up with your husband, you shouldn't have a problem with being let back in. I went to the US in October right before I got my first stage approval for sponsorship, and my fiance and I flew back up to Canada together. We had no real problems at the airport and the VO actually gave me a year long visa that explicitly states I should get multiple entries into the country with no problems even if I leave before the visa is up. I'd say book your tickets and try to come back up with your husband if you can, that way you probably will have the least problems.
