Hi guys,

I am planning to visit India as my masters program gets over by tomorrow. By the time I return, I will have all the documents required for filing PGWP. Is it possible to flagpole in the Ottawa Airport itself and get my work permit approved? Can you share your experiences if any? Thanks. 8)

No - not possible. You can't flagpole at an airport. You can only flagpole at a US/Canada land border.

To get a work permit at an airport, you have to be arriving to Canada on an international flight.

Yea that's the plan.I will return on an international flight from India in the next few weeks. So, what do I need to do to get my work permit as soon as I land in Ottawa airport. My study visa is valid till Dec 2016. And I do not want to file a PGWP application online which will take 2-3 months to process.

So, I will have all original documents (transcripts, letter of completion, study visa etc) ready. I, therefore, prefer to get the work permit in the airport itself.

What do I actually need to do? What is the process?

I came across this post although was an example at a land border not airport http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/flagpolled-detailed-story-urgent-question-t400972.0.html
