Hi friends,
I am writing this topic to clear the doubts about landing process at Canada-US border without having US visa. Many people says that if when we do flagpoling without a valid US visa, its like a rejection. From my recent experience, there is no problem getting US visa after we do flagpoling without a US visa. I did my landing at niagra bridge in nov 2012 and in august 2013 i applied for US visa and u don't need to mention in application that u have ever denied an entry from US, as flagpoling is a process, it doesn't mean rejection. I got my US visa without any problem.

Nice thanks for that!

No, flagpoling without US visa it not like a rejection, as it was your decision
to not enter the US.
You have not been rejected.

Hey guys quick question. I am planning on driving my friend to the border so he can flag pole. Can I wait in the car in a parking lot while he does this? Or do I need a US visa? Because I currently do not have one.

If you only drive him to the border, and he crosses on foot, then yes you can wait on the Canadian side for him.

Cool thanks, after he does the flag poling, he just comes back to the car and we turn around? Just trying to figure out the logistics so I don't cause any problems for us. Especially because it will be a rental car.

Your best bet would be, you park close to the border ON the Canadian side and drop him off.
He walks across the line to the US border, tells the border officer he's there to flag-pole and complete the landing or whatever.
He'll be sent back to the Candadian border, completes the paperwork and comes back to the car.
That way you stay in Canada, and he's the only one crossing or flag-poling.

OK i'll make sure to do that, just scared that when I get close, that there will be no spot to stop and I'll have to drive through.

Check the border on google maps ( satellite view ) and see if there's a parking lot on the Canadian side or
a road to the left or right before you cross.
You can also call the border crossing and ask them.

Did you get a rejections stamp on your passport though?
