Fixed Deposit as Proof of fund for Visitor Visa

Hi Experts,

I'm in the process of applying TRV for my dad.

He has a fixed deposit [opened in Jan 2018] worth CAD 15000 which no lock in period [Can be withdrawn any time]. I can get a letter from the bank saying it is encashable at any point.

Is this fixed deposit be used as proof of funds OR should he terminate the FD, move the amount to Savings account and provide bank statement as proof?

As per I Know, Saving Account balance will be much beneificial to you rather than FD. There are so many cases ,where applicant got refusal bcz of showing Fixed deposit. Trasfer your fund to saving account will be best.
