Hi,

I have given my medical assessment in September 2018 for Canada PR, and I got a request letter to send my passport last week for temporary visa. I heard that we need to land in Canada for first stamping to get the Pr card before the medical results expire. I am afraid that I cannot go to Canada any time earlier to September 2019 because of my visa issues here in US. Is there a way I can request for an extension to the date or get my medical exam done again ?

Thank you,
Reema.

No. If you don't land before the expiry of your CoPR/Medical, you will lose this chance to get a PR and will have to go through the entire process again from scratch.

What Visa issues? Coming back from Canada via road is pretty straightforward. You don't need a valid Visa, only a valid I-94.

Reema, Forget about when you did the medical assessment last year. What is the expiry date in the visa/copr? This is what you should consider. The medical date and visa-copr expiry date can vary for many people. You should do the landing before the visa expiry date to get your PR status and then you can anyway go back to US (if you have valid extended I94).

Requesting extension has slim to none chances.

is your extension/amendment/transfer pending with uscis? Why cant you travel? You are not providing details about your expiry date on Canada visa or the US I94 staus.
