First time in Canada after US deportation

Hi!
I was deported from the us and banned for 5 years, before this I’ve applied gor eTA and was approved.

My boyfriend is a Canadian citizen, is writing me an invitation letter and I will include documents of my income and tax payments.

Will this help or should I just give up and make him move here?

There are a number of reasons you're likely to be refused, but the only way you can find out is to apply.

Is your ETA still valid? It may have been revoked when you were deported from the US.

I actually check and it still active until 2021!!!

The passenger manifests are reviewed a few days before flights so you could receive a message that your ETA has been refused. You could also be turned back when you land. Would be planning that those 3 options are possible.

When you get to the POE, CBSA will see your deportation from the US and yes, you can expect to be refused.
