Hello. I'm a newcomer PR in Ontario and expecting a baby. Currently living in an air bnb and will move to a more long term location in a month. I have an appointment with a GP near my current location on November 2nd My question is:

Can a GP in one area (eg Mississauga) refer me to a hospital/OBGYN in another municipality (eg. North York?)

Yes they can. They may not be familiar with the OBs in that area and who is taking patients but they will be able to try again if your referral ia rejected.

Have you moved to Ontario permanently? You refered to your new home as "more longterm". Will you and your child be meeting the OHIP residency requirements? If you and your eventual child aren't planning on meeting the residency requirements you shouldn't be applying for OHIP.
