Hello Shewta

I think you should apply for credential evaluation as soon as you can. and please please read the complete application package before you send it. Also I think you would need contacts in your colleges, because the alliance requires that College send the degree transcripts and not the candidate and you know how things are in India, I know of people who waited for 6 months for their colleges to reply. So please make sure you have some contacts in your colleges.

Also Best of luck on finding a PT assistance Job in Canada, Toronto might not be as good, but suburbs around Toronto are good for getting PT assistance jobs. Right now the timeline for getting the Credentials evaluated is nearly 54 weeks which is 1 year + 2 weeks. So this means even if you apply now you will have your credential results in August/September 2013. So till then you and your Husband would have to make way with the PT A jobs. Which is very do able, just that if you had applied for credential evaluation before it would have cut a lot of time that you would need to wait before your results are out

thanks u simi.....
aliance do have our syllabus for bachelor degree..
hope this will cut short the time period..

Yes... Alliance has now created two categories Non precedent and precedent .... Precedent is for people who are in the exact same course, from the exact same college and Univ and have done their degree at the exact same time as some one whom the Alliance has already evaluated.

I believe if you fall in Precedent category it is good, Plus I think for Bachelor's degree the credential evaluation time is less.

When I said 54 weeks, I meant people like me. I applied for my Credential evaluation in August 2011. My file type is non precedent and I am getting my Master's Degree Evaluated... so it will take 54 weeks.

This thread is a piece of gold for immigrants who want the real scenario of Canada for struggling immigrants.
The vivid picture has come out off so many false and wrong things.

Hi,

My wife and I have just got the PR and are looking for a suitable job before coming to Canada. We both are delhites, I am working as an AM with Metlife (I have 9+ years of experience in the BPO domain wherein apart from customer service, I have experience into Telecom Billing with BT, and Insurance with Metlife), and my wife is working as a Manager with EmaarMgf into the Customer Relations and Sales domain (she has worked earlier with Chubb Security Sydney as a Senior Escalation Specialist and has also worked as an MIS specialist Team Lead with Cresanda Solutions which is an IT company, along with Standard Chartered as a MIS executive). She also has 8+ years of experience.
I have done my MBA in management from Sydney and she is a Post Grad Diploma holder in HR. I have worked for 3 years in Sydney and my wife has worked for 1 year in Sydney (both os us were working as Senior Escalation Speialists with Chubb Security)
Kindly suggest what route should we take to land up a job so that we can travel. Would look forward to your answers.

Regards
Sanjeev

I have not had my share of luck yet, I'm a Financial Analyst, with 9 years experience in two countries (almost 12 years with the same employer), and so far, all I could get is preliminary interviews with the recruiting agencies when I walk in to deliver my resume.

The only companies that are coming after me like flies in the sugar are the Financial Advisor ones, like Investor Group, Sun Life and Edward Jones. But I have no experience with sales.

Dont worry about these companies, they would take anyone from the street , no experience necessary, no education required, all you have to do is sell and then they throw you a bone at the end of the month (aka commission) which will hardly cover your grocery bill

Hi everyone,

I am about to get a Canada PR.
I am having 3 years of IT experience.
I did Bachelors in Engineering [regular] and MBA in finance [distance].

Could anyone tell me, what are my luck to get a job in the present Canadian IT scenario?
Is it advisable to land in Canada now, without a job offer in hand and searching job after coming into the country. :-\
I am an entry level associate consultant working in a reputed Indian IT company ;D with a nice pay.
So what are my possibility of getting a job in days after landing?
[...it gives me goose bumps  , if I didn't get a job for several months]

Guys ! Please help me

What is your field of expertise in IT?
Dont leave your job in India.
Come to Canada and see what are the prospects here.
decide then.

@nathan:

I am currently working as a Identity and Access management application administrator using IBM Tivoli tools.

Also planning to do IBM certifications on the same.

Will these help me? Also would I get any other IT jobs , if there are no openings on my platform?

Do not listen to rejected asswipe jnathan who is spreading his propaganda against PR in canada. Many of my friends are now living in canada doing jobs in different mobile operator (ie wind mobile)/ Ericsson /construction firm etc. Some are studying in rayarson university and already having part time job earning handsome money. follow your dream not an asshole.

IBM and Tivoli is widely known and accepted in Canada.
Only if you are an expert of doing everything about any product on your own.
you must be able to work independently from scratch which is very much impossible for many
experience of 3 years, doesnt seem promising for an worker who can find a work in Utterly competitive Canadian Job Market.

People working as janitors/Cleaners/Factory workers often turn into Wind/Rogers/Mobilicity/Telus IT Administrators when they chit chat with their friends in India/Asia. There are only a a few seats available in Ryerson University for some prestigious courses of IT where only the applicants who have exceptional experience in their fields. This is where again Centennial/George Brown students turn into Ryerson students when they chit chat with their friends in their home country. Look at that guy, he even wrongly spelled the name of that University.

No *censored word*head!!!! They all are doing MS in telecom and IT in Ryerson university and earning well enough for them and their family, while a jerk like u is bragging about PR in Canada and getting all misguided. Get a life!!!
