Hello all! :)
I was wondering if anyone knows whether receiving financing would cause my sponsorship to be rejected. I'm confused because my immigration consultant said not to receive any financial aid from the government for at least three years if the sponsorship is accepted (we should get an answer in about 20 months from now), but I'm not sure if getting financing (i.e. for buying a car or getting surgery) would be allowed. I apologize in advance if this post is redundant.
Thank you!

It is strictly government aid (welfare). Financing from a private institution like a bank is fine.

Your immigration consultant doesn't know what they are taking about at all.

A person that is under welfare assistance is not capable of support a spouse....
clean and simple...
Your Immigration Consultant is totally right.... you are using a game of words trying to
mix one thing with another...
Welfare and financing are two different things...

If you can prove that you can pay back to any financial institution
you also should be able to show that you can support your spouse...

And being a recipient of social assistance only proves that you are not capable of supporting yourself
... not to mention a spouse....
