My husband is in India..and he is helping me financially..I have a Canadian PR..I am planning to sponsor him..how do I say I can support him financially? I have put my income for the last year as 0..as I am a student here...

plz help

If you read the guide clearly it states that there is no minimum income requirement for spousal sponsorships with dependants. You just have to supply an Option C Printout and write unemployed student. You must not be in receipt of social assistance (welfare).

I sponsored my husband successfully this March (also through New Delhi) and I am a student so it's definitely possible. It's true that you don't have to meet any financial requirement but I think it's wise to give some sort of explanation of how you intend to support yourselves. I explained that I have a scholarship that covers tuition + living expenses as well as a line of credit. Is your husband supporting you completely or do you have any student loans or anything? Does your husband have the means to support you financially until he finds a job? Although it's not required, I would personally mention something to that effect of how you plan to support yourselves once he gets here.

Thank you guys! It helped a lot! I am almost done with my studies and yes..I can explain to them that my husband has some savings and can support ourselves even if he doesnt find a job right away.

Thanks a bunch again!
