Hi Everyone,

I hope you guys can help me with my query. I am now here in Canada with a valid work permit.
I have more than 1 year experience as a Financial Analyst and I know I can apply for PR under Fed Skilled Worker Category. The cap of 300 has already been reached for Financial and Investment Analysts, so I am thinking of applying next year. But is I have a job offer, I can apply right away without worrying about the cap.

My question is what if I have a job offer as a Financial Advisor (skilled job but not included in the qualifying jobs to apply for FSW), can I still apply for PR because I have a job offer and I have a work experience as a Financial Analyst? or, the job offer must be also for Financial Analyst position to be considered?

This confuses me so I would like to know if I am qualified, or it would be better if I'll just wait next year to apply for PR to be included in the 300 cap?
Please help, thanks a lot..

Yes - you can apply now if you have a permanent job offer.

I would not wait until next year. There is no guarantee there will be a "FSW 2014". CIC may decide to put a hold on the program until 2015 and the introduction of EOI.

thank you so much scylla.

I thought the job offer needs to be a Financial Analyst as well thats why I am so confused. But with what you said, I will start preparing my documents now. I dont need to show proof of funds right?

thanks again.

Yes - you need a job offer to apply as a Financial Analyst. You said that you have a job offer in your first post which is why I said that you can apply.

If you do not have a permanent job offer in Canada - then you can't apply.

The information you're providing is confusing. Do you have a job offer or don't you?

hi scylla,

Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, I have a job offer but not as a Financial Analyst. My job offer is for a Financial Advisor position as what I have stated in my first post.
I just thought that I might not be qualified to apply because the job offer t(Financial Advisor) that I have is different from the eligible job (Financial Analyst) for FSW.

I am already here in Canada, my friend just told me earlier that I dont need proof of funds anymore.
