While the IRCC tracker was down, I relied on the IVR system to check updates on my application, since I applied through a representative. Initially, the IVR message stated: “Your application was received on [date]. We will contact you if we need more information or once a final decision is made.” However, almost 10 days ago, the message changed to: “Your application was received on [date]. To serve you better, we will now transfer you to an agent.”
I spoke with an agent, who confirmed that no final decision had been made yet. I then requested a screenshot of my application status from my representative. In the “Latest Update” section, it shows: “Final Decision – [same date the IVR message changed]: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once a final decision has been made.”
From what I have read online, this change can indicate that a final decision may be issued within a few days. However, in my case, it has been almost 10 days with no further updates. My CEC application has been in progress for nearly 8 months now. Has anyone experienced something similar or knows how long this stage typically lasts?
