Hi,
I live in canada. My brother got a letter of admission from univ of regina. He got a bank loan for 20lkhs inr. Is it necessary to file income tax returns for my father whoose only source of income is agriculture. And can i be a financial supporter for my brother will there be any visa rejections?

if he's from india.
then check this checklist.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5957E.pdf

Read carefully.

you can be financial supporter however you dont need to mention that you are supporting him financially.
you could pay his fees or send him money for gic.

Regarding, if you are his real brother, family information.

He would have to mention where you live. this might be a problem as one person's visa got rejected first time but accepted second time.
so strong SOP from him mentioning study plan etc is a must.
highly recommended that create no link with him except for the family information form.
rest you can do behind the back like giving him money etc.

also this is what i've learned through this forum. This what people suggest is best.
