Hello All - I am filling ITA form for express entry. I had a query regarding a lost passport. Back in 2007-08, I lost a passport. Right now, I dont have any copy of that passport except the fact that old/lost passport # is mentioned on my new passport. I didnot had any visa stamp or travel on that old passport. Now, what should i do ? Do i need to provide any LOE for lost passport ?

Please help.

Thanks !

I would say a letter explaining the lost passport is in order. Especially since it is mentioned on your new passport. A letter of explanation is a very useful tool for an applicant as it is your only chance to dispel any potential doubts in the officer's mind. Any ambiguities or 'discrepancies' can be explained via the LOE. Its good that you didn't have any travel on that passport as it may have been hard to remember travel details. You should be fine with a LOE.
