Hello po!

Has anyone tried to enrol sa UBC DAP??? I left after I finished my undergraduate degree po so hindi po ako CPA. I've read through UBC DAP and hindi po ako sure kung ag undergraduate ko is icoconsider nila na undergraduate din for me to enrol. Meron po ba ditong nakatry na? Whoever is living here in Victoria. I'd love to see you around.

Thank you!!
Was your transcript assessed by WES? From my inquiry with them, graduates from the Philippines need to have both a masters degree and bachelors degree. However, if your education was assessed by WES as the equivalent of a four year Canadian bachelor degree, they might consider it.

Hi! Kumusta ang job market diyan for accountants?
depende - san mo balak mag settle?

pero generally the struggle is to re-do the CPA exams again dahil nga expensive sya and time consuming

and possibly di mo makuha yung experience required ng CPA if nakakuha ka ng work sa industry na hindi approved training organization

Hi everyone! I'm planning to land in Alberta this October. I'm a Filipino CPA and I'm planning to get my certification once I arrived there, pero sa nababasa ko it seems na hindi ganun ka dali. I thought kasi magttake lang ng exam but I didn't realize na need pa mag-aral or need pa nga ba? So I need advices, can anyone here who can share their own experience in becoming a CPA in Alberta?

Hope other CPA and Auditors na naka land na rin sa canada makapag share ng kanilang experience especially sa job market natin.
Hello,

I landed here in Canada last March 2015. I am CPA as well in the Philippines and worked for 10yrs as Senior Accountant in Dubai. It was indeed very true that it is hard to get a job here as Accountant and Auditor. I am very lucky enough that my first job was Admin/Bookkeeper and then eventually will be Accountant hopefully.

Good luck sa inyo.

Hi cpd_faye, thank for sharing your experiences there in Canada.

Have you heard of the Advanced Certificate in Accounting and Finance? Pwede daw syang I take online. Baka meron dito na nasa ganitong program at pwedeng makapag share ng kanyang experiences. Worth it ba na I take ito or dapat Canadian CPA na lang? I am a Senior Accountant with almost 10 years experience. I am currently working here in Caribbean and we are planning to land mid next year in Vancouver area. Gusto ko sanang makapag prepare na bago lumipat sa Canada at para hindi masyado mahirapan maghanap ng work sa accounting field. Thank you in advance!

Hi there. How are you planning to land in Alberta without sending your applications and meeting their requirements?
Her' what I did(hope it could help you):
1st: I spent a month of reading the ICAA website/forums/blogs
2nd: I sent my Preliminary Assessment Questionnaire(PAQ) to ICAA.
3rd: I gathered all needed reqs(PICPA certificate of good standing, TOR in a sealed envelope addressed directly to ICAA,employer certification, resume)
4th: while waiting for the result of my PAQ, i applied for assessment on IQAS. Just in case they ask me to have my credentials be assessed by IQAS i dont need ro wait for another four months.
5th: now am still waiting for the PAQ result.

Hi!

Query lang nirerecognized po ba ang mga international certification sa Canada such as Certified Information System Auditor, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner? If yes, is there any chance na makakuha ng job sa Canada na related sa work ko dito sa Pinas pag may ganun certification? plan ko sana magtake before ako pumunta ng Canada may ganun kasing inooffer ang company namin.

Thanks in advance.
Recognized nila ang mga certificates na yan.. Although, mas valuable pa rin ang Canadian CPA dito kesa specialty certifications.

Hi is this topic still active? Anyway, I am an in canada through student visa. I am currently on my last term at BCIT studying diploma in accounting hoping na eventually ma-push through to CPA designation if i get my papers fixed. I finished my financial mgmt degree sa pinas but did not have it assessed na whatsoever since I needed to take full time courses as it is required with the visa. Yung program meets most of the required PREP modules except 3 so I need to take that before i could enrol for CPA PEP. Hindi ko pa natry ipa-assess yung degree sa pinas since it costs 200$ yata. I am wondering if someone here recently tried to have their transcripts assessed by cpabc and kung equivalent din ba sya sa degree dito?
