Should I wait for filing taxes for 2014 before I apply for my spouse or it doesn't matter?

it really doesn't matter. we applied march 2014 and sent in a 2012 option c. no issue at all. i would assume if the sponsor has a letter of employment, has no history with welfare, and hasn't changed employment since the last available option c, i don't think it's a big deal if the option c isn't the most current year available. i would think CIC gives some sort of grace period. of course, it's best to supply an option c that's not too outdated.

I have the option C for 2013. But the only thing that is confusing me is that my status in Canada changed from on study permit to permanent resident in 2014. Everything else unchanged and I have all the other things you mentioned.

i don't think that matters. i don't think your status is on the option c. if you're not sure, you can always submit the application as is, get your taxes done and request an option c "just in case". generally, it will take 4-6 weeks after filing taxes for an option c to be available. it will not be available upon filing. From what we were told, the CRA "accepts" and finalizes the filings by monthly batches.

Nothing else has changed at all?! What about marital status? When did that last change? Were you single when you were granted PR?

Yeah my marital status changed.

Before or after you landed as PR? If before, did you declare it at your PR landing interview?

No, my marital status changed after I became a PR. ;D

Without sounding a complete idiot may I ask what is option c? I am applying inland and still getting familiar with all the terminology regarding the whole thing.

I have not seen one yet, but it has to do with your tax filings/ notice of assessment.

It's a more detailed breakdown of all your sources of income. If you are collecting(or had collected) welfare benefits, it would appear up on it, unlike the notice of assessment which shows just employment income and taxes deducted.

Hey. I get Ontario Trillium Benefits. It's like 500 per year. Will that be a problem?

No, OTB is not welfare.

I have a little similar question regarding taxes. Applying inland with husband being out of status I need to file taxes for last two years. How do I put him in my tax forms as he doesn't have a SIN card. Any information is highly appreciated.
