Hi all,
I have a few questions about my 2014 tax return. I lived in Canada from April 2012 and returned in August 2014 to Ireland.
I'm pretty sure that I'm to be classed as a non-resident (ie. deemed non-resident) for 2014, is that right? (I was there for over 183 days, Ireland has a double taxation agreement with Canada, and I no longer have residential ties there.)
I received Irish social welfare for the remainder of 2014. Does that count as world income on the tax return? Or no, because it was received when I was no longer a resident of Canada? Or no, because it's not taxable income?
Hope someone can help clear this up before I file my return!
Thanks
