Hi all,

While waiting for spousal PR or rather i should say "finding the strength to wait for PR" as a fellow member so eloquently put.. I'm hoping to apply for my extension. Would it be bold to ask for an year extension? or i should just ask for only six months?. I have enough funds to support myself during the stay or should I include my husband financial information as well?.

Many thanks,

May god gives us strength during the wait and may there be relief soon.

it is quite common to request 12+ months extensions, and it's recommended to do so. that way you don't have to continually keep applying for extensions should your application take a significantly long period of time. PR applicants are rarely denied extension requests, and asking for more time will guarantee a longer extension. yes, it's best to include your husband's financial information as well. anything to strengthen your case of being able to financially support yourself while you're a visitor.
