File transfer from one Local office to another Local Office ?

Hi,

I recently moved from Hamilton to Toronto and made a address change on my application.

Last week, I called CIC and the representative said that file is in Hamilton office and she is going to initiate a transfer to Scarborough office.

Does anyone had this before ? How long does the transfer take..

Hamilton is an hour drive from Scarborough.. I wish I can go and grab the file from Hamilton office and hand it in Scarborough office..

I had the same issue and I changed my address and did let CIC know before transferring my file to Hamilton.
However, because of unknown reason they sent my file to Hamilton instead of one of the offices in Toronto.
Once, the agent told me I can send an email to Hamilton and ask them to transfer your file to Toronto OR I can leave it as is. I asked him to leave it as is. Because transferring file between offices at least will cause 8 weeks or more (I believe in "more"...) delay to your process.
So I will take one day off to go to Hamilton office in front of Jack Sq. if they ask me for writing my test one day!!!

The representative I talked too mentioned that file have to be moved and she is going to initiate the transfer so I had no choice.

I will see what happens. Hoping for the best.

hey guys, I'm having my test in Dec. in BC. however, I'm going to Ottawa for four months, from Jan. to April. I believe in this case it will be a waste of time to transfer my file from vancouver to ottawa, then back to vancouver, since i'm just one step away from getting my citizenship. But i am just a intern in ottawa and do not want to take two days off and fly back to van.... i'm so lost and have no idea what i should do for it.....any one have any input regarding this situation?
