Hello.
I just became a status Indian thru my mom side of the family. I was born and raised in the us. My question is being a status Indian is that all I need to move to Canada? and can I sponsor my wife for PR status to move with me? Is my registration number the same as a social security number in the states?

Thank you

Are you registered on the Canadian Band Lists?

Check out some info here:

I am register on the list in Ottawa took almost a year half for the process I just sent off to get my status card.

If you have your Status Indian paperwork you should be able to move to Canada and after that start sponsorship.

Your spouse would need to enter as a visitor, but but could get a work permit after some months.
