I have been offered admission to Masters program. However someone told me to go for IELTS. I have following questions

1. The university placed my country in English Language Exemption List. University has waived me off IELTS. Do i need todo IELTS for visa?

2. I am planning to bring Spouse with me, Does she has to attempt IELTS if she has to apply for OWP? if yes which GT or Academic ?

3. OWP is automatically granted to spouse or do we need to make separate application?

4. If separate application is required for OWP when should I apply after obtaining spouse visa or during application of spouse visa?

5. Would bank statement of 3 months do or i have to present 4 months statement

1. No need to take IELTS.
2. No - not needed.
3. No - certainly not automatic. You have to apply for the OWP and not everyone is approved.
4. Your choice.
5. 3 months is fine.

Thankyou. What do you think I should apply for visa for spouse when i apply for my visa or i shall go first and then call her to canada. I have heard that if both try to apply visa gets rejected because of not being able to show strong ties in home country?

Not an easy predicament. I would suggest u to

Apply urself first. Get through it. Settle up there & then call ur spouse.

Parallelly enquire in ur university to get your spouse with u.

If you wife insist on coming with u, then apply for both of u. If it gets rejected, then u can try n apply urself. Make sure u apply well in advance ( 3 months in advance)

With ur spouse, u'll need to show more funds. Check & satisfy their requirements & in ur letter of explanation do mention what ur wife plans to do during her stay in Canada.

Where r u heading ? If ur heading to a really cold place, then u might want to consider that while deciding.

Good luck
