Fees - How Much Should I pay?

Hi guys,

My wife is sponsoring me. I currently live in Canada with her. We are applying OUTLAND.

I don't have any children or dependents.

Can someone tell me how much I should pay in total?

I was on the website and the fees list was confusing to me

Should I pay $75 for my sponsors fee and $475 for me as the applicant

Is the total feed I owe $550?

This is what it show me:

550. The 475 for PA and 75 for the sponsorship application.

You can also pay the Right of Permanent Residency Fee (RPRF) which is in another section on the 'pay your fees' page. That is $490. They can ask you to pay that anytime until they are ready to issue. If they don't have that, they won't issue until you pay it.

It could save time, in that they won't have to ask for it and hold up your application in the end stages. It does get returned to you if the application fails. But will it slow their processing down if unpaid -- unsure. I have noticed that there is a greater velocity through cases for 2016, and those who have been sped up did pre-pay. I cannot say that the ones who haven't been sped up didn't pay.

For me, I paid it upfront. That way, we don't have that one more thing to worry about. But the choices is yours entirely.

If you do not expect any additional document requests, and especially if the PA is from a visa-exempt country, I would highly suggest paying the RPRF upfront.

We did not pay it and although it was submitted immediately upon request (along with a couple other documents), we've been waiting 36 days since they asked for it... not that I'm counting, lol! Our application was received May 31, yet there was recently an app through Ottawa submitted in late June that has already received CoPR; they confirmed everything was submitted/paid for upfront, including RPRF. It seems that apps that are complete with RPRF paid process quickly, at least for CPC Ottawa.

Yeah definitely - we can never really say 'for sure', but based on my own experience and watching the spreadsheets/forums, it definitely seems to speed things up. Also, when they email prompting for early RPRF payment as part of their bulk email it does say "to avoid processing delays".

Yeah if it will let you. If not, do a separate transaction and provide both transaction receipts when you file (and save a pdf of them... so you have them in case)
