Hello,

Some background:
- British
- 26 years old
- BSc Computer Science British university
- 2 years experience as a software developer
- Married to a Thai national, MA in International Marketing British university

I believe I qualify for the Federal Skilled Workers visa but I'm concerned at the low number of places allocated to my profession (NOC 2174) .

The alternative for me would be get a IEC working holiday visa but my concern with that is finding a job with a time limited visa. Secondly IEC does not allow me to travel with my wife and she would have to apply for her own visa without me being able to assist her (is that correct?).

My questions:

- Is there another type of visa that I am overlooking?
- Has anybody managed to gain a job in software on a IEC?
- Can I enter Canada on an IEC and then switch visas in Canada?
- General advice?

Thanks in advance everyone.

Ash
