Applied for the spousal sponsorship (inland) on February 27, 2018. Got AIP and SA (DM on sponsor side) on November 28, 2018. Going to be 12 month in 2 days and they are still working on the background check. I have been in Canada since the age of 14 so wasnt required to send it from my home country. No dependants. Called cic and they just told me to wait but they dont know for how long , maybe 2 days or maybe 3 months more. If anybody is in the same situation or knows why it takes so long (3 months now) for the background check after AIP
February 2018, background check is taking too long

Are you the Sponsor or the PA? If you are the Sponsor, what is the country of nationality of the PA and where does the PA reside? Did the PA live in another country for over 6-months?
I am the PA. Russian citizen, have been living in Canada (Winnipeg) for the past 9 years since the age of 14. And have not lived anywhere else for over 6 months, not even in Russia.
