Finally got a text invite! Didn't get an email but got it in the mail. Checked Ecase and it's there too. I am from Langley BC. On the 28th it was updated with a test invite. The test is on August 24.

A have a question for you guys though. I was born in the USSR and on my Israeli passport that is how it is written. But 10 years ago when i got my student visa in canada they inputed the country of birth as Russia which is not correct. I guess they go by the current country that it is.. In this case it should be Azerbaijan (Was part of USSR).

When my PR came through it still said Russia. When I landed as an immigrant i have told that to the officer at the border and he corrected my form and put some number on it. I assumed they have fixed it by now but when i was checking my Ecase it still shows Russia.

So I assume that all i need to do is to mention it to the officer in the interview. Correct? I have my birth certificate as well translated so he can take a look at it. Am I correct? Just want it all to go smooth and be corrected to Azarbjain. I was very little when we moved to Israel.

Please let me know guys :)

I am sure somebody here of the forum is better qualified to help you out, but I would phone CIC and discuss it on the phone what you should do.

I would NOT wait until the test only to find out that this will drag the whole application process out. I feel that if you only announce this mistake on your test date that "decision made" will take much longer as they probably will have to run new security checks.

I did FP, on 11/4/2017
Last week I called cic and they told me that as your fp was requested prior to test so in mean time they've done all security clearance and checks for me and guy told me that now you just have to wait for your test invitation and once you've test you're all set and there's nothing else to be done ... And he told me that some people get security clearance and all other checks after test.
So hopefully your will be done soon

The written test invitation finally arrives and Aug 21st is the date!

Quick question to those who've already taken the test:

How similar (or different) are the questions in the actual test to the ones we see in practice apps & sites besides reading Discover Canada?
