As per my call to CIC customer care they have confirmed, that if the spouse is already in Canada, the file will be sent to Ottawa.

The CIC call center is often very wrong.

Hi everyone i applied for outland spousal application march 14 2016.....but i haven't received AOR1 and its been almost 30days and i have been reading anonymously on the this forum seeing people getting AOR1 in less than 36 days....i became so worried and i had to call cic after work this evening and i got my wife who is the sponsor to speak to them they asked her few personal questions and information....few mins later the call center representative said to my wife Congratulation your sponsorship application have been approved and he gave her application reference number....1st of all it feels like a film trick coz im wondering why didn't i get an email of AOR1 like every other person do here on this forum
2ndly is sponsorship approval same thing as SA people keep talking and i kept reading here on this forum
3rd why is it so quick to get SA i thought people said on this forum its few days or weeks after AOR1 Email that's when People get SA
4th the application reference number my wife was given by the cic call center representative worked when i logged am wondering to my self i thought people said on this forum the application reference number takes few days or weeks before an applicant can have access to the update of the application
5th when i logged in it said medical recieved and the date my application is received by cic 14th march but noting on the screen saying my wife sponsorship application is approved but however the call center representative said my wife sponsorship have been approved .....am just a little bit confused how all this works congratulation to everybody who have gotten AOR...

I cant answer all your questions but I was in a similar situation, I recieved AOR1, SA and AOR2 without any emails sent to me. I had to call them to confirm, one of the agents told me that they will email me within a week or two. I forgot to ask for the UCI number too. So what I did is i just tried logging on to ecas using the receipt number and it worked. They just forgot to send me an email. Lol but im glad everything is running smoothly so far.

Hey everyone, just a small update. We finally got SA after 21 days from AOR1. However, we were transferred to Rome office (the PA is Italian but we expected Vienna because we're German Residents) but maybe it's because Vienna office is so full, or they were just basing it off citizenship.

Best of luck to everyone, hopefully the final SAs come through this week for our February group

I called the call centre first thing this morning.. It seems i got the sponsorship approval on the 11th of April and the file has been transfered to NDVO.... but I didnt recv any email yet about it. I guess its safe to assume now that i have SA.. finally some good news.

Congratulations unique! That's excellent news. My VO is New Delhi too so let's keep each othet posted.

If let's say there is no AOR2 received (like Ottawa office doesn't send one), then how does one know which VO was the file sent to?

Is it mentioned in SA email?

Yes, SA email says where your file would be sent to.

Finally and at last!! Congratulations!!

Don't worry about the email though, i got an email with my SA three days after receiving an email from my VO in Paris.

I got my AOR3 (third line) before the email with the SA.

I received SA on Apr 5 and my spouse's status was updated last Thursday so now it says "IN PROCESS" for both sponsor and PR side.
However, the third line "We have started processing your application..." is still missing on the PR side.


I'm not too worried about this but is this an usual occurrence?

Its the same with mine too... only difference is i dont have any email confirmation about SA or AOR2... both sponsor and PR are in process as of last monday..
