Ok, so here's the situation.

My application is now out of processing times - they received it on Feb 24th, and 62 days expired last Monday. I have not received AOR or SA. Nothing. No correspondence whatsoever.

Everyone on here as told me to call them, but the only number I can find on the CIC website only says you can call from within Canada (I try to call from UK, but it just fails every time). I tried calling another number, Foreign Trade and Development, because it redirects you to CIC, but the automated message just says they are "experiencing high call volumes" and hangs up. So, I cannot call them. Every effort results in a brick wall.

So, I just submitted a Case Specific Enquiry Form found on the CIC website. Basically, a web form that I can use to send an enquiry if my application is INSIDE Canada - which it is (I mailed it to Mississauga and have Royal Mail confirmation that it was delivered). I have no idea if anyone is going to come back to me though...

Can anyone advise me or offer any help or guidance on what I should do to try and get a status update on my application? It would be OK if I had AOR, but as I don't even have this, and I'm outside of processing times, I'm starting to really worry now. And the fact that I can't even call them doesn't help!

Try 613-944-4000 (for an agent: options 1,2,1,2,1 ... then 0 to skip the message) Thats the only way to reach the CIC if your outside of Canada.
Its best to call between 8-9 AM when the call volumes are low.

To answer your previous question; first of all why did you mail the case specific enquiry than submitting the web form online? I would presume the web form has a faster response if any. USUALLY a AOR is send a week before SA and SA a week plus couple of days; in your case you not getting the AOR seems a little odd but not uncommon we have seen people not getting an AOR/SA and getting in progress/decision made that being said
I would presume you triple checked your junk mail and your the email address you had provided, we have also seen people not getting any notification due to an error from the applicant or from CIC.

If you have checked then I would suggest the only option is for the sponsor to contact CIC to ask for the status, since the file has crossed the stipulated time the agent will be able to initiate an investigation.

ECAS updated as Decision Made for Sponsorship application on 29th of April. But so far we didnt received any letter or email. Looking forward. :'(

They told us on the phone something similar (although ecas not updated yet), and that there is a delay sending out emails of a couple of weeks. Judging by the amount of AORs being received for those in March and April, it looks like that's their focus right now

I'm February 7th applicant and base on ECAS they received my application on February 10th and medical result received as well.
but its been almost 3 months now I didn't get any email for SA or update on ECAS. I'm so getting frustrated because I really need my husband to be here as I just had C-section a week ago. I called CIC 2 weeks ago and they said they are going to follow but until now I didn't get anything from them.

You don't need previous application. Use your UCI number from your PR card.

Most likely you'll able to log in.

Hi. I received SA on April 16th.

AOR on April 7. Application received on Feb 16.

Good to know I'm not the only one in this situation! They received our app on Feb 24th and haven't got AOR or SA yet. I have been told that they are usually a couple of weeks behind the processing times they put on the website, so I'm wondering if they're working on our applications now (we probably fall into the Feb 25th pile that they're currently working on). In which case, we might get a response in the next couple of weeks (if the are actually 2 weeks later in processing times than stated).

I have also been told that a lot of us aren't getting AOR before SA. A lot of the times, AOR and SA come together, or SA is received without AOR. Goodness knows! So many variables!

I'm just going to wait until June. If I have heard nothing by June 1st, I'm going to start pestering people!

there are times the email address is wrong....make them know ASAP because there might be some documents that they will ask you through email and if you dont know and not send it it will cause refusal...have heard some...

I keep trying to search on the ECAS system using my receipt number. That's the only number I have, as I don't have PR card and have never received any correspondence from CIC, so have to UCI number...

You could try that method. Although, it always says that it can't find me, so I'm hoping that means they haven't started processing my app yet and not that they've lost my documents!!

Try with both you and your wife's information for the receipt.

Also, make sure you aren't doing a me and putting in Canada as your birth country when you were born somewhere else (I was born in the US to a Canadian father and US mother)
