Hi guys,

Normally I don't check my ECAS because I don't want to feel disappointed with what I would see, but I summoned courage this afternoon to check it and this is what I saw:

"We received your application for permanent residence on February 27, 2014.

We started processing your application on March 5, 2015.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision"

I got DM!

Thank you Jesus!

Congrats! Btw,I saw you have called cic service centre many times, have you ever been told that your application was undergoing a background check?

Thanks Xris! I have been told so many times in the past and I think its the same for every applicant.

My application has passed the processing time already, I called cic, they told me they are still waiting for the results of investigations. I don't know how long it will take. The funny thing is I asked that agent does this new processing time apply to my application, he said yes.....

Without the final results from the background check, there is nothing they can do.

So does this processing time include background checks ?

I would say yes for sure. Background checks can take longer to return depending on individuals as per CIC.

Ok It seems there's nothing I can do except wait.... :(

There are two stages in Background checks! First stage is carried out by external agency and takes most of the time. Once that stage is complete and they have received the results then it is upon your officer to review the results and do verification accordingly. This is considered as second stage. I think you are probably on first stage.

The GCMS I ordered in March says my Eligibility not started, security not started, Criminality in progress since AOR, which is February 2014 and the only section I have passed is medical. This is really frustrating.

Hello Fellow February Applicants,

Its been really quiet here in the last couple of days, any updates so far?

Its kinda hard to swallow when you see Aug, Sept, and even Nov 2014 applicants getting DM & PPR while Feb, March and April applicants don't even know when their cases will be decided :-[

When you have DM, you can call CIC and the agent will tell you if the decision is positive or not. They won't tell you when you'll get PPR, though.

You are right. CIC normally will not tell you but they can give you a timeframe to expect PPR. As in my case, my GCMS notes shows a due date of June, 30 2015, which means I will get PPR email on or before this day. When I called CIC the call center agent told me the same thing.
