Hi BCvannom - not sure if you've already got your PPR or something like that (I sincerely hope so) but I wouldn't wait until May to apply for an extension to a WP that expires in june. The current processing time is about 2 months for the online application - and given CIC's track record that may change without notice. Just a friendly heads up from another guy in the same boat.
My Post Grad WP expires in June and I applied for its extension two days ago. Hopefully I will not need it.

thank you so much for sharing - I got Decision Made on March 31st (talked to an agent and she said it was made on March 25th actually) - I haven't received PPR yet, but she said that I passed all the checks and my file was approved, so ottawa should contact me - i am still playing in "waitforanemail" game, but feel much more confident and happy

Yes you can ask them for a letter we have been refuse before cause we apply for bowp since my wife reach 4 years and her employer cany issue lmia as of now so we try but git refused we fax our letter and ainp nominaion number and after 2 days a manager of ainp call her saying that she will send us a fax letter informing cic that we can apply for bowp and like a letter saying that they should consider the letter for the pnp applicant until pr will be on dm

Hmmm - what's implied status ? Is that something specific to the AINP program or would it apply to Ontario PNP too ?

@Patwal - sorry to hear about that. But if it helps I was intially rejected my Ontario PNP back in 2013 but was able to convince the immigration Ontario agent that I do in fact have a full time job (it's called "temporary full time" in my company till I get my PR) when he sent me an email refusing my application. So perhaps wait for CIC to get back to you on why they are refusing the application and then have a discussion with the agent ? I hope it works out.

Hello there.

Implied Status means - You are legally allowed to do ( work or study ) under the same rules and regulations as your previous permit until the decision for the new application has been made assuming you applied before your permit expired. since Open work permit allows you to work for any employer you should be able to change the employers without any hiccups, but your PNP needs to know this right away....

also the only requirement for the implied status to be maintained is that you cannot leave Canada if you do you will loose Implied status.

Called CIC yesterday to confirm if the requested copies of my new passport was received. I tried probing the call agent to know if there is anything new or positive on my file but she wasn't willing to release further information apart from the documents I sent was received. I plan to call them next week again for any update on my file.

Congeats thats great it seems that the processing time is diffrent between case to case ??? Some cases takes long long time hope we well get our ppr soon and for the rest of feb applicants
