Hey Diaboluce,

Thanks. What kind of criminality check takes 8 months to complete!! And then eligibility and security after that is pending. BTW, my GCMS notes show status = in progress (since 1st August 2014).
I was thinking we will get ppr this month, hence postponed my India trip. Now, I am actually thinking of re-scheduling the India trip since there is no expectation of ppr for me for at least 3 more months (with several things pending as per GCMS notes)/

O-PNP applicant, Application received = Feb 13; AOR = March 13. Medicals done; RPRF paid. E-cas = 'application received'

This is what I got on my GCMS notes today:
Eligibility = not started; Security = not started; Criminality = in progress; Medicals = passed-expired.

So, I am hoping by next December (2015) at least they will send PPR request!

I did Medicals in March, and the notes show passed-expired. Does it mean expired since >6 months have passed? Will I have to do medicals again?
Hi drnas77,

I think you and I have similar situation. My application was received on Feb. 27/2014, AOR on March 28.

My medicals was received on April 13 as per my GCMS notes. My GCMS notes reads as follows:

Eligibility = not started; Security = not started; Criminality = in progress; Medicals = passed. No IP yet.

I have a question for you: apart from your home country, have you lived in another country for more than 6 months before moving to Canada? I am asking this because I lived in 2 different countries for 6 years in total before I moved to Canada. I am thinking why we are yet to get IP since medicals have been received might be because they intend to do a secondary background check. I am not sure but your response might help to explain my thoughts as to why we have no IP yet.

Thanks,

Delgado77

Delgado77 = Yes, I have lived in 2 different countries for 8 years in total before I moved to Canada. But, since original police clearance certificates for those countries are already provided, why should it take so much time?

drnas77,

You are right with your point. You would expect that police clearance from those countries should be enough but is not the case right now. From what I have learnt, security is actually the most important part of the process. Once the security aspect is cleared other aspects of the assessment process (eligibility and criminality) shouldn't be much of a major obstacle.

Lets keep our fingers crossed that we will get response before the end of this year. Remain positive :D ;D :-*

Fact: requesting gcms notes won't accelerate the process,
Overburdening them with requests will not only delay your file, but everybody else's too.
So be patient and wait.

It won't delay yours or anyone else's application. Doesn't make any sense.

Guy's i got e-mail from my area MP. And she wrote this:-

Dear Mr. Patwal:
The Minister's office responded to our inquiry on your behalf. The information given to us by the Minister's office follows this email.
It is important that you know that Citizenship and Immigration officers are independent decision makers whose determination must be in accordance with the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and Regulations. Members of Parliament and other Canadian government officials do not have the authority to make decisions on applications or to give directions to visa officers with respect to individual decisions.
Thanks again for your inquiry.
Yours truly,

This is a Provincial Nominee Program application.
It was received on February 24, 2014. Medicals are valid until April 6, 2015.
Eligibility for the program was passed on September 3, 2014. File is pending background check.
The current published processing time for the Provincial Nominee Program in India is 17 months so this application is still within publishing processing times.
The application is going according to schedule.
If you have not heard anything by August 2015, please feel free to contact the MP office again to make another inquiry.

I THINK PPR WILL TAKE LITTLE LONG FOR ME. SO I’M NOT HOPING PPR IN THIS MONTH.
What you guy’s think about this?

Thanks for sharing your notes. I am still confused. Why is our country of nationality important when we are inland applicants. This line <The current published processing time for the Provincial Nominee Program in India is 17 months so this application is still within publishing processing times> is a bit troublesome to me.
Is that the reason our files are still gathering dust at CIO, Nova Scotia while CIC is waiting to transfer our files to our country of nationality.
