ohh yeah.. I'm familiar with her case... actually Sao Paulo doesn't send AOR, they got in touch with her to request some extra docs and that's when she knew they were processing.
What is bothering me actually is the whole "process in receiving order x two people to analyze" thing... Hypothetically, if 6 people applied before me, 3 processes go to each agent, right? (Of course, supposing they divide equally).
If they take an "optimistic average" of 5 months to process each, my app would take 15 months to start to be analyzed!!!!!!

Ahh and by the way, one of the two agents is new and it's been trained... ???

Do u guys think I'm going nuts or what?! LOL

I remember back in the 1980 when I was waiting in Greece for my sponsorship to be approved (it took 7 months then) I was reading horoscopes everyday sometimes in many newspapers editions. And you know what. Not then not even now i liked Horoscopes and have never believed in them!!!
Thank god now we have the internet and we can refresh our mailers every 10 minutes to see if we have an email from CIC...

Checking in!!!! I have been lurking but just too anxious to post. I can get OCD about things!! lol

I have made a decision......we are moving for sure in August of this year, COPR or not!! I contacted the school district and got approval today to enroll my son. Originally they said it would cost $12,200 per year unless we had a PR card but when I told them I couldn't afford that and explained my situation they told me that as long as I could provide proof that we were in process that the fees would be waived. My wife went in today and dropped off the paperwork and they gave her an approval letter. I will be up over our Memorial Day weekend next month and will be registering him at that time. It's a huge burden off of me knowing I have a plan of action.

Anyway, that is my check in. I hope everyone is able to keep busy while we are waiting. I hope we all hear great news soon!!!! ;D

Your idea is very good. I would do the same too if only my spouse was from a visa exempt country.
Enrolling children in school is a priority!

Sometimes we just have to do what we need to do.

We are moving to Toronto (the Durham region). It is a great area for schooling from everything i have heard. I am extremely excited to get my son started. He is going to be in the 6th grade and he already missed 2 years of french. I want to be sure he gets a year of elementary school under his belt in Canada before hitting junior high. It will already be difficult enough!!

Thanks Canard! And i wish you well too. I know all about feeling frustrated and eager. It is what has prompted my decision to move. I am licky enough to be visa-exempt so i CAN do it.

Just remember that is what this board is here for, to support each other and vent our frustrations to one another when we need to do it!!!!

Durham is good. Always liked east-north east Toronto. Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, Oshawa not too far from lake Skugog (Port Perry) and Rice lake. I spend some fun weekends there! Lucky you. I am heading to AB but I feel kinda jealous about not returning to Ontario. You get so many nice things there. If it wasn't for jobs I would've been back there!

You definitely know your Durham region!!!! I love all 4 areas you mentioned and will be proud to call it home. I wish you the best in Alberta, it is a beautiful province. Honestly I think I would rather be there because it is more of a small town feel like where I was born and raised. The city intimidates me, as does the traffic!! But hopefully I will have somegood job opportunities. Time will tell!!

Ok dear friends! I'm gonna ask something just to keep the balls in the air!
This week I learned that my VO has ONLY TWO PEOPLE analyzing all the family PR's. That drove me crazy! Only two! Good lord...
So... they say they process the files by the order they receive it. But I've seen cases where the app was sent after some people but they received their COPR first. I know every case has its peculiarities and those may extend your processing time. Having that in mind, with only two people at the VO analyzing the cases, if they indeed process by the receiving order there wouldn't be cases of people receiving COPR before others, right? Otherwise, processing times would take FOREEEEVER (more than the actual processing time!).
Anyway...just food for thought... any comments are highly appreciated!

Today my wife just got an AOR from the Singapore visa office, notifying that they received our application on 22 Apr. How do we go about finding out how many VOs are working on it?

I wonder how you managed to find out how many VOs are working on yours.... =P

Actually, I learned through somebody else. She applied last year and had to hand in some extra docs requested by Sao Paulo VO. When she was there (chatting around), she heard there was only two agents working on the family cases. Sadly.

I guess it depends on the amount of processes each VO receives.

Btw, our VO doesn't send AOR's.... so congrats on yours!!!

However, I need the passport to enter the CFA exam on June 1st...so I probably won't send it out until June 2nd...really sucks, but at least I know it's making progress! YAY!

Beijing is one of the fastest VOs with 8 months processing time for the PR. I think if you provide your PP now, it is mostly be back you even before June 2nd. If I were you, try to shoot them an email regarding your passport, because I have a feeling it will be fast after your PPR.

Thanks Iay! I'll definitely check with the VO to see what they say. I just can't believe it's happening so fast! Based on the emails I got, it took them only one day to review my file? From what I've heard, the Beijing VO usually requests pp at least a month or so after the AOR...It just seems too good to be true...

February thread has been a lucky thread so far. Dina got her COPR this April, which all together just took 2months to process.

I hope you hear from Beijing soon
