Find the UCI number on your AOR. Put that on ecas along with YOUR last name, birthday and place of birth. Don't put any spaces or hyphens in the number. Make sure you choose UCI on the list.

For the file number, you put all your husband's info.

Edit: Choose Client ID Number/Unique Client Identifier when using UCI. Then put all YOUR info in.Make sure it matches CIC's records.

You might not be able to login yet.

Yeah I guess not, nothing works is ok though will try next week. Have a good weekend all

I always have to put my UCI number in twice....never works the first time....whether home computer or work computer.....big red warning comes saying my number is invalid and blah blah blah....and when I reentre the 2nd time it works......

I tried.. nothing works. My file's been transfered to the VO office.. does that mean everything will be updated in the immigration file number that my husband got from now on? or do they still update the UCI? If the VO updates status' in the immigration file then I don't need the UCI anyway.

Thanks for your help.

UCI shows everything and file number shows only the applicant. I just check file number now and once in awhile I check UCI just to make sure there is nothing new there that isn't showing with the file number.

If they say DECISION MADE on e-cas and you haven't received any e-mail. There are 2 possibilities:

- They will send your Approval by regular post (snail mail)

or

- They didn't spell your e-mail address correctly.

On the forms if you wrote an e-mail address you most likely receive everything by e-mail.

On Imm 3144 form it say exactly this:

- Indicating an e-mail address will authorize all correspondence, including file and personal information to be sent to the e-mail address you specify.

But the important thing is "Decision Made" part. You will hear an answer from CIC at any time..

He is talking about after approval and no there is not much point in contacting the VO. First they don't accept calls and second they won't email back just to update you. Best to wait and check ecas.

Hmm.. Then you will receive their approval by e-mail too..

You must have your UCI / File Application numbers.. If you didn't receive their approval e-mail then you will call CIC and explain the situation. They will re-send the e-mail..

No that isn't true. You can receive AOR by email and approval by snail mail. It is up to the officer and this happens a lot.
