I'm new here. I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but I am a February applicant. I sent in my application to sponsor my husband on February 15th and according to Canada Post they received it on Feb. 16. However I'm noticing many people can check their application status on CIC.. How do I go about doing that? I haven't received any email or letter with a UCI number.. is anyone else on the same boat?

I have not heard anything yet; app was received on Feb 14th. It's quite hard to figure out their process.... keep in touch if you hear anything. Planning to call on Thursday........

No update on e-cas. Whatever e-cas is, I noticed you guys match UCI a lot with that.

Receipt # does not work :( I wish CIC would just let us know how they prioritize the cases. Where is the bright light???????????????????????

I can tell you how they prioritise the case but then those favored by the system will be mad at me for telling the truth

^ What does that mean???

Just a conspiracy theory....there is no preference. It is just about how complicated the case is, how organized it is, who the officer is etc.

Why Ottawa?
Don't we send spousal applications to Mississauga CPC?

Mississauga sends some applications to Ottawa, perhaps because they are overloaded.

yeah but apparently they go to ottawa once they are "checked" in mcpc? i dunno, just a rumour...
but what i do know is that clearly they are processed in ottawa...

I was just wondering, when you call the CIC people and ask about your application, are they able to tell you that they received the application before they start working on it?

My father (our representative) called them a week or so ago and they said that they had no record of the application in the computer. Shouldn't they at least have a note somewhere that they received a package from us?

I'm worried that they sent the package back to us and we missed it, as we were away from home for two weeks during March... No doubt I'm just panicking.

Mmm I am pretty sure they don't have your package registered in the system until they work on it.. I wouldn't worry :)

Don't worry! Many people in January had this happen. They were told they weren't in the system and then got approval shortly after. Any day now!
