As sick and twisted as it might sound I'm really glad that I'm not the only one that is so pissed about the wait time for the US... I almost can't stand coming on here right now because I'm so disappointed in the fact that we don't have approval and so many others do. I don't want to sound bitter or rude but I think it is total crap! I really don't understand why the US and the commonwealth aren't the fastest to get processed! At this point I would almost feel better if stage two was set up the same as stage one and that we all had a 11 month wait or whatever.
I've been told that it's because they come in with more money than we do that they bring more into the economy. I was sooo insulted when I got that...but i have so many family members in the states it makes no sense...just from quebec to vermont....all the french names that are there...we are from the same descent why are we discriminated so much now...that is how i feel in my own country!

There are many variables involved in the length of time it takes a VO to issue visas. Are we really going to fight over which VO deserves to be fastest? It is what it is. But saying stuff like India is preferred because the people will work the crappy jobs is not cool. And stop bashing Canada.
Therefore the system should be the same all the way across to come into Canada...I love Canada just not the politics!

It can't be the same. There are different issues in each country. Mexican police clearance cannot be done until requested. Some countries have issues with fraudulent marriages or different cultural expectations. Just like businesses some offices might be more or less efficient because they are run by humans and humans aren't all the same. The buffalo office closing is a mess and transitions can be slow. There are too many things involved to expect every visa office to be the same. Many things depend on the home country. Like Cuba which requires people to get permission to leave. Everyone will get their visas. It is all worth it.

The part that ticks me off is that every other country has 1 visa office to process applications..some get in sooner..ok. U.S. applicants have 5 offices (Ottawa, Detroit, New York, Seattle and Los Angeles) so why is nothing being processed quickly for U.S. applicants? It makes no sense.

It isn't really like that. Those offices aren't usually doing spousal apps. It's usually one office like everywhere else. So it's not like five regular VOs. I feel bad for buffalo applicants because it's all so unknown.

It's the fact that they can and they do process spousal in those other offices. We were told that our files were sent to LA for stage 2 processing when we got spousal approval and it came known to us after speaking with phone reps that in fact, our files will stay in Ottawa then LA will give us our visas. After Buffalo closed, they were going to spread out the spousal applications to all those offices but it never happened.

Yes they can. But they do not have a full staff at each visa office dedicated to spousal applications. They are fitting in the applications. It's not like five regular visa offices. A lot of other stuff is done at these offices.

Although TS could probably also take it easy with all that talk of people shooting each other or whatever the heck that was about. :p

Deep breaths, everybody.

Admittedly I'm getting increasingly antsy as well. I'll be filing a GCMS request soonish as I can't stand not knowing what is going on with the medical side of my application. Given the medical dept didn't even get my address right on my medical furtherance letter, for all I know they could have requested more stuff since I sent that stuff in and I would never know.

I move to Canada in 6 weeks!
There was a shooting in downtown Toronto (Scarborough area) a week or so back. 2 people ended up dead including a 14 year old girl and a 21 year old boy and 19+ injured as well as a few months old toddler. The shooters were part of gangs and immigrated here in Canada. I bet they got into the country faster than my wife will. That's what I was referring to.

I have also noticed that there are many more Indian spouses getting approved in comparison to others. However I can't sit here and speculate why that is. My VO is Vienna and since February I haven't read anything about anyone getting even PPR as of yet. Sometimes I wish my VO was New Dehli I bet my husband would've been here by now. I guess we're all just frustrated about our own statuses when we see others getting approved but sooner or later we all will. Just got to be patient we cant do anything else.

I see "current mailing address" for me (sponsor), quoting my mailing address (I log in with UCI#/my last name)
I see my husband's mailing address under "current mailing address when I login with file number/his last name.
No mention of residential address anywhere for us.
