I only sent one set of finger prints taken from Global Identification Service Center.

Sent: 26th April 2016 (From Canada)
FBI Received: 1st June 2017 (Item successfully delivered at 26301,USA: I am not sure why there is small change in the zip code. It supposed to be 26306, USA.)
Credit Charged: Not yet.
Status: Unknown

In the event they charged the credit card: Does it mean they accepted the fingerprints for processing or will they take the money and suggest reapplying?

They will charge your card regardless of whether they process or are unable to because of fingerprints. Unfortunately no way to find out until the report comes unless their call center can confirm this after the card is charged and before delivery. Not sure if they can do this.

No one has ever reported that FBI told them hat fingerprints are not ok and to resubmit before processing. So I guess we will have to wait and find out - this is what I feel unless someone has actual expeirneve of the process

Congrats ! How many copies of fingerprints did you have in your package?

I have sent the application for both myself and my wife together, for her I have sent a single set of prints as she got a live scan and for me I have sent 3 sets just to be on a safe side as mine are ink prints
