Is it likely that PCC will be processed faster nowadays, given that cutoffs have been high the last few months?

The traffic on this thread seems to have reduced a bit as well.

Hi folks, I have just send an email to FBI attaching a scanned copy of my address change request form which is in Kentucky. Now, do I need to call them up and check if it is processed. My fingerprint was received on 6th June.

Does anyone know if USA applicants are being processed faster by the FBI? I'm just curious because I had to order a background check from them for a new job (yes the main FBI, not a third party channeler), and it's expected to be back within 2-4 weeks. I'm curious if the backlog they had is gone, or if they're giving priority to USA citizens/residents.

How do you know it's supposed to be back in 2 to 4 weeks?

It's for a certain type of security badge and that's what the CBP informed me when I gave them my fingerprints. The badges require a FBI Background Check, and the average turnaround time is 2-4 weeks.

If you're a US citizen or a green card holder, then you transfer your fingerprints digitally and the 2-4 weeks seem like a reasonable timeline. Otherwise, it still seems like it's taking 12-14 weeks.

That would explain it then. I'm a US Citizen and it was digital fingerprinting. Thanks!

The more I'm reading into it though, I don't think digital fingerprints can be used if you go through the FBI and not an approved channeler (which CIC does not accept).

CIC started approving FBI channeler provided PCC

Thank you for pointing that out! I somehow overlooked it. Very much appreciated!

Hi
For others waiting for the FBI PCC - a question - in your application where have you explained why you dont have a FBI PCC (along with proof of delivery etc.) ? is it in the letter of explanation, or the part where you have to upload PCC or have you written a separate letter to the CIC?

Thanks in advance! it may be a very simple sounding question but do want others advices!

Update : There are processing the applications received on June 6th

They had received my application on 31st may as per USPS tracking records. unfortunately the agent says they do not have my file in their system ! There goes my two months!

I just called the FBI CJIS and they said it may take a couple of weeks to finish the processing of my application. My fingerprints were delivered on 6th of June.
