I received my FBI letter and forwarded it to the CIC at the beginning of April (after submitting the request back in December) - I got an email from the CIC today accusing me of not sending the original from the FBI, which I did! >:(

I wonder if they are not up to speed on the plain white paper being used now? I also didn't have anything to report (no data as I have no record) so the letter was short and sweet. I emailed them and will call next week if I don't hear back.

Just an FYI - posted this in the processing time thread as well. What a pain! Anyone else having issues with the new letters?

I bet CIC isn't aware of the change. I'd suggest sending a kindly worded email explaining the new situation at the FBI, and this is why your report looks the way it does. Also provide the direct quote concerning the plain white paper, along with the link so they may confirm the quote is true.

"Note: Due to automation of the mail process, tentatively scheduled for January 12, 2015, the FBI will no longer provide Identity History Summary results on blue security paper. All responses will be processed on standard white paper. Additionally, the FBI will no longer accept return self-addressed envelopes with Departmental Order requests. This includes pre-paid Priority Mail, FedEx account numbers, United Parcel Service, etc., foreign postage coupons, and requests to forward correspondence to the Department of State for the apostille process. Envelopes received will be destroyed. The FBI will return all results, both foreign and domestic, by First-Class Mail via the U.S. Postal Service. Thank you for your patience as we try to streamline our processes to improve our service to you."

Did you send in the envelope the report came in?

This is sort of hilarious.

I can just hear the conversation at CIC processing centers "LOL look at all these Americans trying to send us fake FBI clearances! Not even one of them is sending in the right form LOL!".

ROFL ;D

Paging Ponga.... :D

Ponga had posted the question of how they were going to deal with this..guess we have at least a partial answer. Hoping it's just one person who isn't up to speed...

Here I am (panting...out of breath)

This doesn't surprise me at all. It makes me wonder if someone at CIC was aware that this FBI change was scheduled for ~Jan 12th, which is why CIC suddenly began accepting Channeler reports on Jan 19th. The real question is why they pulled the plug on Mar 9th.

Doesn't it make sense that CIC should accept the report from one of the Channelers that still uses the same blue security paper that the FBI was using?

Ponga, silly girl, that requires far too much common sense! :-\

Ridiculous !! As if we dont have to jump through enough hoops...

Our whole application was delivered May 5. Praying we don't have the same issue with my FBI report, being that it also is on the white paper. Never even thought of including the envelope it came in...just attached the single sheet in our application.

Seriously!

I should have sent the envelope... but I didn't think I would have to. We'll see if I hear from them this week.

Hey I used standard white paper too as indicated on FBI's site! :'( Haha, this is funny. You guys know, I had my fiance send in 3 fingerprint sets, LOL, we are very paranoid, we took extra extra pre-cautions. I will laugh my ass off if sometime down the line something related to this clearance gets rejected. God must be screwing with me at that point. ;D

When there's too much shit, there's nothing left to do but laugh.

What exactly do you mean by that?

What did YOU use standard white paper for?

Good news - heard back from the CIC.

"Dear applicant,

Please disregard the previous e-mail that was sent to you about resubmitting your FBI Clearance. The document you provided is the original.

We sincerely apologize for the confusion
."
