Hi All,

I know this must have been discussed multiple time on the forum, however, I had a tough time searching for threads that mention it. So I am posting the question here:

Can FBI Identity Summary Checks be obtained electronically through their website if I am a international student on F1 visa? There is no mention on the IdHSC website that electronic method can be used only by citizens or permanent residents of the US.

The TAT for electronic requests is 3-5 days whereas for sending an application through mail, the TAT is 12-16 weeks. Thats a significant difference.

Does anyone with a similar situation have an experience?

Thanks for your time.

Try to use the new edo process which is fast

I am all in for the edo method if it can be accessed by non-citizens/non-immigrant visa holders. That way I can get it done at a later stage as I am still awaiting my IELTS results. Thanks again.
It's open to all whose in USA including non citizens and non immigrants

Can I take my own fingerprints on the print card for the FBI identity history or must I take the card to the police station to have it done? There is no professional fingerprinting service in my city unfortunately.

You can do it yourself. But make many copies because sometimes they get rejected. If you get it done from Police station it is more likely to be accepted.
